Position OverviewWe are seeking a Tax Staff Accountant with 2-5 years of public accounting experience to join our growing boutique CPA firm. This role offers broad exposure to individual and business taxation while working directly with partners, managers, and clients.

- Off Season: 2 days office / 3 days remote
- Busy Season: 3 days office / 2 days remote

Generally fully in-office
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, trusts & estates, and a limited number of C-corporations using Lacerte and CCH tax software.
- Utilize Quick Books to support client accounting needs and gather information necessary for tax preparation and year-end reporting.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by answering questions, explaining tax matters in an approachable manner, and delivering high-touch, relationship-driven client service.
- Collaborate directly with multiple partners and managers on sophisticated tax planning projects, including international and expatriate taxation, IRS notices, and tax resolution matters.
- Prepare work papers and tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and ownership, ensuring work is completed correctly the first time while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- 2-5 years of recent public accounting tax experience.
- Experience preparing returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and pass-through entities.
- Proficiency with Quick Books is required; experience with Lacerte and/or CCH is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to build relationships and work directly with clients.
- Personable, dependable, and professional with good business judgment ('street smarts') and confidence to communicate with business owners.
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is highly preferred, particularly candidates with experience responding to IRS notices or assisting with tax resolution.
- Someone who values accuracy, follows through on commitments, and enjoys working in a collaborative boutique firm where everyone contributes to the client experience.
