Assistant Executive Administrator
The Assistant Executive Administrator serves as a trusted partner to the Executive Administrator and helps coordinate Township operations, support departmental initiatives, oversee payroll and financial processes, and ensure high quality service delivery. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives and make a meaningful impact on the community.
Key responsibilities include establishing goals and operational priorities with the Executive Administrator, improving organizational effectiveness through workflow and process improvements, reviewing timesheets, coordinating payroll submissions, assisting with accounts payable, monitoring budgets, expenditures, revenues, and resource utilization, assisting with budget development and fiscal planning, coordinating Township events, outreach initiatives, and marketing activities, providing leadership and technical assistance to staff, and serving on behalf of the Executive Administrator during absences.
The Assistant Executive Administrator reports to the Executive Administrator and works closely with staff supporting Senior Services, Transportation, Health Services, Youth & Family Services, Food Pantry Operations, General Assistance, and Administrative Services. The Township employs 15 full-time employees along with an additional 35 part-time employees. The annual operating budget is approximately $3.2 million dollars.
High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Minimum five years of progressively responsible administrative or management experience, including financial, payroll, budgeting, or accounting responsibilities. Experience in local government, community services, program management, or nonprofit organizations is desirable.
A collaborative and service oriented professional with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, fiscal awareness, and a commitment to public service.

Starting salary range: $50,000–$60,000 DOQ. Benefits include participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), Medical, Dental, and Life Insurance. The Township offers a generous leave package including paid vacation days, personal days, holidays, and sick leave. The Township will be flexible in determining the number of annual vacation days for the selected candidate. A cell phone or cell phone stipend will be provided.
