Administrative Assistant

Job Description:
An ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT at LCA is often the first face seen or voice heard that represents our program therefore, must be able to provide a positive first impression. An administrative assistant must be respectful of and willing to provide ongoing support to the director, the staff, the parents and the children. This administrative assistant must have a saving faith in Jesus Christ, and carry out the mission and values of LCA.
The assistant must be available to work part-time as needed, anytime between 7:30am and 5pm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist and openly communicate with the director regarding all daily operations of the school
Monitor all building entrances to ensure safety throughout each day
Communicate with parents by phone, text, email and in-person
Provide tours and share program information with potential parents
Prepare and distribute enrollment information to current and new families
Maintain student files, monitor for completeness and follow-up with parents
Maintain database, continually updating with new students and new information
Maintain database with billing and receivables
Run receivable reports weekly, monthly and yearly
Prepare weekly deposits for the bank
Order necessary office and classroom supplies and maintain inventory
Schedule and supervise vision and hearing screenings, student photos with school photographer, CPR and First Aid training each year
Assist in monitoring staff’s compliance with DCFS requirements including Gateways Registry
Assist teachers with prep work for classwork, crafts, and special projects
Assist teachers in the classroom if necessary
Care for and supervise sick children being sent home
Qualifications:
A participating member of a home church
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Completion of High School or equivalent GED
Prior experience in a Daycare or Preschool is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a must
Submit to and pass a criminal background check
Provide proof of a medical examination and a current TB test with negative result
