Starting Pay: $15.75 per hour
Work Schedule:
Shift is 3.0 - 3.25 hours per day; part-time/non-benefit. First day of school:
August 19, 2026 ASSIGNMENTS AVAILABLE:
Permanent positions currently available for K-2 & Grades 3-5. These openings are for less than 5 days per week.
- Strong interest in working with school-age children
- Good communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to problem-solve issues quickly
- Successful experience supervising children grades K-8
- Dependable
- Possesses good judgement
- First Aid Certification a plus
- Possesses the ability to communicate and follow written and oral directions in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers
- Supervise and assist students in the lunchroom with continuous observation
- Supervise and assist students on the playground with a keen awareness for safety and precautionary measures
- Assist team with cleaning the lunchroom
- Assist team with distribution of lunches
- Will be considered a mandated reporter for abuse and neglect (DCFS)
- Be engaging, reliable, and kind
- De-escalate conflict or an angry student situation
- Employ medical and safety precautions/responses
- May be asked to assist the school staff with light clerical duties as assigned by the principal, such as copying, organizing, laminating instructional materials, processing mail
- May be asked to assist in the media center with non-clerical tasks, e.g. shelving books, straightening materials
- Other tasks as assigned by the principal
- Use Red Rover Absent Management System to submit absences and to request substitutes for vacancies
- Complete all mandatory training requirements:
Annual online Global Compliance Network (GCN) training and various school building drills/trainings such as fire drills, active shooter training, & tornado drills. - Holidays, winter break, spring break, and summer break are non-active working days. Hours will range from 9:45 a.m.
- 1:20 p.m. depending on actual school building. Five (5) days in school year designated a Professional Learning Days (PL)/Early Release Days which are half-days for students; your day would begin earlier at either 8:15 or 8:30 a.m. to accommodate the short day.
