Summary:

Under general supervision, installs and maintains devices, local area networks, and wireless infrastructure, maintains equipment records, diagnoses device and network problems, maintains and repairs equipment, performs related work as required including student and business management system.

This position is part of the District technology team, their home location is Century Jr High School

Qualifications / Experience
  • High school diploma/GED or a minimum of 4 years of similar experience.
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or commensurate experience, preferred.
  • Technical certifications, A+, Network+, MCP, or equivalents, preferred
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP IP addressing, subnetting, preferred.
  • Experience with Remote Support technologies such as Remote Desktop (Microsoft), Apple Remote Desktop, VNC.
  • Apple Mac/iOS Repair Certified (preferred).
  • Experience with enterprise-wide rollouts of hardware and software.
  • Hands-on experience removing viruses and spyware using various tools.
  • Windows and MAC hardware and software troubleshooting skills and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to do in-depth research and troubleshooting for complex technical issues.
  • Ability to complete all work tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced customer service principles and practices.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize workload.
  • High level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Good technical writing skills and a willingness to document all work performed.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Working knowledge of wiring/testing equipment (punch tool, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting product configuration, district programs and devices.
  • Knowledge and experience in wireless communication configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness and skills necessary to determine the solution & root cause of issue.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist Device Manager in implementing district instructional technology objectives.
  • Track and resolve customer incidents and requests through the Help Desk System (HDS)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for iOS, MAC, PC and network devices
  • Restore and migrate user data.
  • Maintain network switches; configure and repair as needed.
  • Provide support to assist other support groups such as networking, server and telecommunication teams.
  • Execute and follow appropriate (Knowledge Base) articles.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop system, printer and operating problems
  • Consult and instruct users on hardware and software questions/issues.
  • Runs diagnostic tests to isolate system problems and make recommendations for potential solutions.
  • Create and distribute Mac, PC and iOS images.
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
  • Install, configure and maintain Mac, iPads, PC, network hardware and Apple TVs.
  • Manage and troubleshoot locally or web hosted software solutions.
  • Administer and maintain security badge system for visitors throughout the district including installing and troubleshooting software, printers, scanners, and label and student badge machines.
  • Install, replace and repair audiovisual equipment including projectors and sound systems/intercoms.
  • Install and terminate low-voltage/network wiring through buildings.
  • Support Library Management Software product.
  • Support Time Clock system; troubleshoot and repair.
  • Support district software programs including but not limited to Student Management and Business Management systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to all district locations and staff including but not limited to administration, instructional and support staff employees.
