Valencia College is now hiring a full‑time Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Operations department at our Lake Nona Campus.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of maintenance tasks, from electrical and plumbing repairs to routine building maintenance. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities remain fully operational and in excellent condition. This is a dynamic role that requires a proactive approach to repair and maintenance tasks across multiple building systems.

General Position Description
:
Responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, limited HVAC repairs or other maintenance areas. This position may perform maintenance assignments alone or may help other more skilled craft personnel in performing their duties.

Flexible Work Arrangement

Fully On‑site – Employee performs all of their job duties at a Valencia College location, with flexibility in the work schedule, if appropriate.

Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (hours subject to change based on business needs)

Essential Job Functions
  • Accomplishes repairs in electrical systems to include lights, fuses, lamps, fixtures, relays, motors, pump switches, etc.
  • Clears clogged drains and toilets and assists in performing other plumbing repairs.
  • Cleans air conditioning equipment and cooling towers and replaces air filters as required.
  • Performs carpentry repairs, assists in renovation of rooms, hangs drywall.
  • Performs routine mechanical or appliance repair.
  • Oils or greases equipment.
  • Prepares and paints inside and outside of buildings, cabinets, furniture, etc.
  • Maintains equipment used in maintenance activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Drivers License Requirement
    :
    Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. The employee will be required to operate a college vehicle, including but not limited to on and between campuses and in the local community, in order to perform the essential job functions.

    Required Minimum Education
    :
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    Preferred Qualifications
    :
    Experience performing related work such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical.
