The Operator Energy System delivers routine maintenance and operation of CFTOD plants that produce chilled water, hot water, and compressed air for the Walt Disney World Resort. This role requires monitoring plant equipment and system status, responding to alerts and alarms, and performing necessary adjustments to optimize equipment performance.
Responsibilities- Validate equipment operation and document status, making adjustments to optimize performance.
- Sequence equipment to meet production demands while maximizing plant efficiency.
- Respond to emergency conditions that may require restarting the entire facility.
- Perform routine water treatment tests and operate chemical equipment to maintain water chemistry.
- Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies as necessary.
- Wear required personal protective equipment, such as face shields, goggles, and refillable hand sanitizers.
- Minimum 4 years of experience operating industrial equipment or a related field.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Universal EPA certification or completion within 3 months of employment.
- Knowledge of energy‑production equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, diesel generators, fire‑tube boilers, centrifugal air compressors, plant controls and ancillary equipment.
- Experience with oil, grease, and lubricants.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and flow charts.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software and mobile electronic devices.
The Walt Disney World Resort operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Schedules and start times vary.
