3rd Shift General Cleaner - OCCC

Summary

This position will perform custodial work. The General Cleaner will clean all areas of the facility (approximately 4,500 - 5,000 sq ft within one hour, varying by location) and will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for tenants, visitors, and employees.

• Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the company.
• Routine cleaning of administrative offices, lobbies, breakrooms, lounges, corridors, bathrooms, elevators, and stairways.
• Clean toilets and sanitize restrooms, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and stocking supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings; move items only when directed by a supervisor. Use safety poles for high dusting.
• Collect recyclable and non‑recyclable waste and replace trash cans and liners where applicable.
• Clean telephones periodically with germicidal disinfectants if applicable.
• Vacuum traffic areas and remove visible debris from carpets.
• Clean light switches, doors, walls, and tops of modular furniture and blinds.
• Polish tables, benches, chairs, stainless steel elevators, escalators, water fountains, and sinks; remove cobwebs.
• Safely empty trash into proper dumping areas and break down heavy trash into manageable weights before lifting and dumping.
• Secure job area with safety signs when mopping or performing other hazardous duties.
• Lock and unlock doors and windows of offices and other rooms as necessary; turn off lights in unoccupied rooms.
• Report to work on time, dressed in company uniform, including badge and black slip‑resistant safety shoes.
• Identify and report safety hazards to supervisor and/or manager.
• Follow safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and requirements such as blood borne pathogens, and clean all bio‑waste accordingly.
• Follow infection control practices, including hand washing techniques.
• Work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ensure cleaning carts are not left unattended and are properly replenished after each shift.
• Keep custodial closets locked at all times; manage key sign‑in/out and return to the job site.
• Keep hallways and pathways clear of carts, equipment, tools, and any hazardous items that could cause trips and falls.
• Leave equipment and cleaning materials clean at the end of each shift and ready for use.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.

Hours:

Part‑time, 35 hours per week.

Schedule:

10:00 PM – 5:30 AM.
