Assistant Manager, Facilities – Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital

Full‑time, First Shift
Location:
Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital – a 124‑bed acute care facility serving the Seminole County community for 40 years, with plans to expand to 240 beds. The hospital offers cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, women’s services, a future NICU, and state‑of‑the‑art operating rooms, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, vascular lab, ICU, and emergency department.
Manages a variety of servicing and repair operations to maintain day‑to‑day buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds, ensuring a safe working environment for all facilities under its control.
Responsibilities- Provides technical support to the engineering team by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving problems related to equipment, utilities, and building systems.
- Plans and implements corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
- Controls costs for optimal operation of equipment and satisfactory results from maintenance or repair work performed by assigned personnel.
- Ensures timely completion of all maintenance tasks and reports anomalies to engineering leadership.
- Manages parts, supplies, product selection, and procurement needs through the organization’s purchase order system or procurement cards.
- Leads engineering projects and performs day‑to‑day project management duties.
- Provides management support for planning and coordinating contracted maintenance activities with vendors.
- Supports the Facilities Manager or Sr. Facilities Manager with daily operations and assumes responsibility during their absence.
- Communicates assignments, activities, needs, and concerns with the Manager and senior facilities staff.
- Ensures staff and assigned areas meet all standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains compliance with AHCA, TJC, and all local and state regulatory agencies through regular life safety and EOC document reviews.
- Keeps all licensure requirements current and up‑to‑date.
- Promotes a team environment, serving as a role model and team player across departments.
- Manages personnel functions, including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
- Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards.
- Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Education/Training:
Associates degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or construction management required; alternatively, high school diploma or equivalent with trade, vocational school graduate, or building trades apprenticeship plus one year of experience may substitute the Associates degree. - Licensure/Certification: None required.
- Experience: Five (5) years of facility maintenance experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of healthcare codes and standards is required.
