Job Overview:
Position Summary
A motivated team-oriented person with customer service skills. Email, basic excel & word required. This team member is responsible for scheduling freight, interacting with Sales Team, customers regarding shipments, generating any required documentation to accompany freight, and meeting or exceeding daily shipping targets through coordination with warehouse shipping team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Scheduling freight either arranged by customer, customer portal, or in the Transportation Management System
- Follow up with brokers or customers on estimated pick-ups.
- Generate Freight Quotes for other Myers team members.
- Estimate freight needed to meet dimensions required for each shipment.
- Update shipping schedule after loads are secured.
- Interface with Sales team and customer service to elevate concerns.
- Generate pick tickets for shipping team.
- Generate required documentation for shipments.
- Works collaboratively with shipping team to resolve any issues with truck drivers on site.
- Review any detention requests & approve or deny based on recorded load times.
- Forward any required shipping documentation to the customer by request.
- Basic investigation of missing freight.
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Signature policies and OSHA Standards.
- Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures by communicating directly with the Warehouse Manager.
- Completes other duties, as may be assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); required.
- Two to three years related experience and/or training; preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer proficiency (Word and Excel); required.

Skills and Abilities
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to do two mathematical operations to arrive at the solution.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
