Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance of park grounds, landscaping, athletic fields and/or facilities, depending on area of assignment. Operates a variety of tools, equipment, and vehicles in the operation, repair, and maintenance of City parks, beaches, athletic fields and/or facilities, centers, and buildings. Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience in parks maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
- Must have or obtain First Aide, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire.
- Must have a valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
- Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
- In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions to perform this job successfully.
- Applicants are required to sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products in order to be considered for employment.
