Position: Cafeteria Attendant (Part-time) - Port Perry
Location: Port PerryGreat Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is seeking a Part-time Cafeteria Attendant!
The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company’s vision, mission and values:
Excellent internal and external customer service skills are required to be displayed at all timesPrepare items pertaining to cafeteria and quick serve menusPick up items from the kitchen upon notification of their readinessSolid understanding of the . system including Shift Changing Procedures, opening and closing procedures and cash settlementResponsible for completing and maintaining daily and weekly cleaning listsOrganize and store supplies such as dishes, condiments and cleaning supplies; be consistent with stocking these supplies to allow efficient accessibility for the next shift changeNotify the kitchen in a timely manner by radio and/or phone of any cooked products needed and plan accordingly to ensure ample stock levels are maintained during breaksMaintain levels of products required in designated storage areas for the cooks to ensure efficient preparation of cafeteria and quick serve itemsMaintain and ensure cleanliness of all counters, tables in the break room, and food preparation areasAssist with duties for the cooks and stewards as requiredPerform other duties as required by the Sous ChefSuccessful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of kitchen or service experience including . operationsShow initiative and understanding of other roles and responsibilities in the kitchenWHMIS CertifiedGood knife handling skillsAbility to follow instructions in a friendly and professional mannerBe thoroughly familiar with the causes of food poisoning and method of preventionAbility to analyze current inventory and develop daily prep lists in order to control food waste and spoilageAbility to prioritize and possess excellent time management and organizational skillsMaintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and managementExcellent customer service skills to maintain good rapport with customers and employeesAbility to work with little or no supervision, independently and under pressure in a fast paced environment.Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights.
