This position helps monitor and record users of the City’s Yard Waste Drop-off Site. This position directs users to the proper areas to dispose of yard waste items and used waste oil. This position is responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of the grounds and facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Record permit numbers, monitor users, enforce rules and policies, ensure cleanliness of the area, and secure the site at the end of the day. Report any concerns or violations of City of Oshkosh rules/ordinances to supervisor.
- Provide general information and assistance to the public, direct users to assigned areas, provide friendly, reliable, positive customer service.
- Report to work at scheduled time with reliable and predictable attendance. Perform duties in accordance with the City’s Safety Policy and Procedures as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including all applicable regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
- Minimum age of 18.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR training is desired.

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing and to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work, make decisions, and complete assigned tasks without close supervision.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the employer, public, and other agencies.
- Possess positive customer service skills.
- Ability to conduct work in a safe manner in accordance with established safety rules and procedures.
- Ability to adapt to the daily challenges associated with a busy work environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to clear leaves and snow from the work area with a shovel or broom.
- Ability to work flexible hours and work outside in Wisconsin’s climate.
- Ability to build, foster and sustain a positive public image.

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will frequently stand for considerable periods of time. The employee may need to lift, carry, or push large items.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork mainly takes place outdoors where the employee may be exposed to wet, cold and humid conditions. The employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.

We are seeking someone to work Saturdays from 9:45 am to 6:15 pm, beginning in April through November. Minimum age for this positions is 18.
