Position Summary
The Prep Cook / Demi 3 plays a vital role in the culinary team by ensuring high‑quality food preparation and presentation. This position requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences through consistent food quality and service.
Responsibilities
- Serve food in accurate portions using appropriate receptacles.
- Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers to prepare a variety of dishes.
- Collaborate with the supervisor to review performance and adjust goals or objectives as needed.
- Prepare visually appealing plate and platter presentations.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of ingredients and supplies to support daily operations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new menu items.
- Inspect kitchen tools and equipment before and after use to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and ready for the next meal service.
- Assist with food placement on steam and cold tables, ensuring proper rotation and timing.
- Work closely with team members to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Prepare customized food orders.
- Support the setup and breakdown of workstations and action stations as required.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, portioning, chopping, and storing food properly.
- Provide courteous, prompt, and friendly assistance to guests.
- Verify that food is cooked to the correct quality and quantity standards.
- Follow brand recipe cards to ensure consistent food preparation.
- Label and document all food containers with proper rotation practices per SOP.
- Adhere to safety standards at all times.
- Report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform, ready to serve.
- Cook orders according to guest requests and special dietary needs with a positive attitude.
- Be proactive in managing pars, preparing food, and maintaining equipment to prevent service disruptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen or culinary training preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid Food Handlers certificate.
