The
Facilities Specialist
performs duties related to the remodeling of facilities, maintaining cleanliness, and the upkeep within the Elizabeth Layton Center at all three Ottawa locations. This position reports directly to the Facilities Coordinator.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Facilities Coordinator with building remodeling and upgrades
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness in all facilities
- Travel to remote vendors to acquire facility supplies
- Order supplies when needed
- Assist in the cleaning of the vehicle fleet
- Perform vehicle inspections and repairs
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
- Completes all required trainings as assigned
Complies with ELC policies and procedures
EXPERIENCE:
- Facilities experience strongly preferred
- Must have a valid Kansas driver's license and clean driving record
- Must be able to successfully complete required background checks
SKILLS:
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Ability to be self-motivated to recognize facility needs of ELC with limited supervision
- Ability to safely perform major job responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to properly clean vehicles and perform other tasks as directed
- Ability to relate positively with others
- Communicates directly and effectively in a cooperative manner
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety roles, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk;
use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms;
climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. - The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration
