Work Schedule, Hours per week: Mornings, Tuesday to Saturday 5:00am to 1:30pm, 40 hours per week
Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No
Starting Salary Range: $16.68-$21.23 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
Position SummaryThe Lead Custodian supports JCCC by serving as a vital link between management and the custodial staff, balancing hands‑on maintenance with frontline supervision. This role is responsible for coordinating daily assignments, leading special project teams, and ensuring that all facilities meet high standards of cleanliness and safety. Beyond performing routine cleaning and specialized floor care, the Team Lead provides essential training and support to staff, monitors inventory levels and assists in the execution of facility events and furniture reconfigurations.
The incumbent ensures a safe working environment by enforcing protocols and providing performance feedback to help the team achieve operational excellence.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year(s) of relevant experience.
- The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds.
- Required to drive college vehicles.
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Coordinates and leads daily team activities and carries out assignments from supervisor.
- Provides feedback to supervisor for performance evaluations.
- Provides direct and indirect supervision, feedback, training and support to custodians.
- Leads the special project teams throughout the year.
- Operational Oversight & Logistics:
- Monitors supplies and ensures availability; notifies supervisor when stocks are running low.
- Leads setup for events and meetings, office content, and furniture reconfigurations.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensures custodians are aware and follow established safety protocols.
- May assist in developing safety measures and practices.
