Restaurant​/Food Service General, Food & Beverage

Job Description

The General Help role assists in the production and serving of meals at a military mess. The ideal candidate for this role will be reliable, personable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to pay attention to detailed customer orders and a willingness to assist team members will be the keys to success for this role. Duties may include:

• Setting up & tearing down workstations
• Serving hot food items during mealtimes
• Assisting in the production of boxed Lunches
• Cleaning & organizing all workstations & customer areas
• Sweep and mop walk-ins, kitchen and loading/unloading areas
• Remove trash in the dish, kitchen and preparation areas to the designated area and clean kitchen garbage containers
• Assist with deliveries and stocking supplies as required
• Ensure the dish and kitchen areas are kept clean and sanitized throughout shift and monitor product supply, replenish when needed
• Comply with all health and safety requirements and guidelines for working safely (lifting, knife safety, wet floor procedures and hot oven safety)
• Participates in JHSC, workplace inspections and accident investigations as required
• Other Tasks as Assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum Post-Secondary Education
• 1 year in Food Services Environment (Kitchen, Cafeteria or Restaurant)
• Reliability Clearance Certificate
