Field Service Representative – Varian Medical Systems
The Field Service Representative (FSR) is the primary contact for customer service and repair needs for Varian Medical Systems (VMS) equipment, ensuring efficient operation of all equipment within an assigned service territory.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair VMS equipment, performing preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades.
- Schedule and manage time for maintenance, installations, upgrades, and incoming customer calls, prioritizing urgency and ensuring timely completion.
- Escalate incidents and request assistance from senior representatives when necessary.
- Handle difficult customer situations while the customer observes, resolving issues to established FSR service levels.
- Maintain effective territory management and expense control, completing and submitting field service and expense reports and managing consignment‑related documentation per VMS procedures.
- Develop and sustain strong customer relationships through clear written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
- Travel to customer sites within the assigned territory; the position is field‑based and requires onsite work at local customer locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree, technical/vocational training, or military experience with electronics preferred.
- Two to five years of related experience in electronic/electro‑mechanical troubleshooting, debugging, and maintenance.
- Sound knowledge of testing equipment, micro‑computer/PC systems, and routine software/network problem resolution.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing imaging system defects, moderate mechanical problems (including vacuum leaks) and performing vacuum system gun and target replacements.
- Achieve certification status for C3 products and complete VMS training classes for C3, Hardware Level II, and Imaging Level II.
- Meet all vendor credentialing requirements (valid photo , background check, drug screen, required immunizations, TB testing, and healthcare training).
- Valid driver's license; no prior DUI/DWI convictions or pending charges.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Willingness to live within proximity of Cincinnati, OH, or relocate to the area; field‑based “remote” position.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, e‑mail, and business tools such as ERP (e.g., Workday) is desirable.
