Summary

The Asset Maintenance Crewis responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer and stormwater infrastructure within the Collection Systems Department. This position performs a variety of skilled activities to ensure the reliability, safety, and functionality of collection system assets. Working both independently and as part of a crew, the team member operates equipment, interprets maps and plans, and assists with other maintenance task.

The role requires a strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, regulatory compliance, and customer service while helping maintain essential public utility services. Team members regularly work in outdoor environments and perform physically demanding tasks associated with underground utility operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer and stormwater collection system infrastructure.
• Maintain and inspect sewer pipes, storm pipes, manholes, and catch basins.
• Operate inspection and cleaning equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Read and interpret maps, GIS data, construction drawings, blueprints, and work orders to complete assigned tasks.
• Conduct inspections of sewer system components and assist in identifying and resolving infrastructure issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections on vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Maintain compliance with Kentucky OSHA standards, SD1 rules and regulations, and established safety procedures.
• Assist with confined space entry operations when required and follow all associated safety protocols.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, team members, contractors, vendors, and customers.
• Document work performed, equipment usage, materials utilized, and project activities.
• Support emergency response operations as needed.
• Contribute to a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment while delivering high-quality customer service.
