Job Description SummaryPerforms a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing general maintenance on university buildings. 2nd shift (Mon-Thursday). 3:30pm-1:30am.
Job DescriptionEssential Duties, Minimum Qualifications, and Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities are listed below.
Essential Duties- Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed.
- Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles.
- Serves as informational resource to staff.
- Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
- May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events.
Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires driver's license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities- Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance
