Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for maintaining Goggin Ice Center facilities and equipment by performing basic operations and facility support.

• Perform general maintenance repairs on facility components.
• Perform general ice making and maintenance tasks by operating ice resurfacer and other related equipment.
• Monitor activities of the facility to ensure the smooth flow of operations and that all systems are fully functional.
• Assist in event setup and teardown.
• Hours for this position are typically Sunday‑Thursday 5 p‑1 a with reasonable flexibility in support of facility events.

• Perform basic ice making and maintenance tasks.
• Perform skate sharpening tasks.
• Perform basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Perform basic and specialized custodial tasks.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Serve as an informal resource to student staff.
• Assist in setup for special events.

• Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires driver's license.

• Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair.
• Ability to read schematics.
• Ability to complete ongoing Certified Ice Technician training.
• Ability to complete ongoing Certified Pool Operator training.

• Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Somewhat disagreeable working conditions.
• Some exposure to several unpleasant elements which are particularly disagreeable.

• Pre‑employment drug testing may be required for this position.
• On‑the‑job ice maintenance and equipment operation training provided.
