A Floor Technician plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. By maintaining floors through cleaning, polishing, and preventive care, they help reduce slip‑and‑fall risks and support the overall health and well‑being of residents. Their attention to detail ensures common areas and resident spaces remain attractive and comfortable, contributing to a positive living experience.

- Maintain all floor surfaces, including vinyl, carpet, ceramic tile, quartz tile, and concrete across the community such as resident units, corridors, common areas, and storage areas
- Clean floor surfaces in offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas
- Move furniture before and after cleaning
- Cleans, dusts, mops, strips, and waxes floors; follow manufacturer instructions and proper methods of stripping, applying, scrubbing, and maintaining floor finish; use dust mopping, wet/dry vacuuming, wet mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning techniques
- Operate chemical dispensing units and use chemicals properly, including appropriate quantity and in accordance with manufacturer instructions; use personal protective equipment as required
- Label chemicals and obtain material safety data sheets as requested
- Maintain inventory of floor areas and schedule routine cleaning and maintenance duties
- Complete duties such as cleaning windows; moving furniture/appliances; hanging drapes; unloading and stocking supplies; trash removal; mattress care and upkeep; and dusting
- Maintain proper operation, cleaning, storage, and adjustment of floor care equipment; report all malfunctions and breakdowns to the supervisor
- Promptly report equipment malfunctions, floor damage, and other issues to the supervisor
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience working in a professional janitorial position
- Floor care certification and/or five (5) years of prior floor care experience, preferred
