Job Description

Summary:

Performs a variety of tasks related to maintaining the University’sbuildings, facilities, and grounds. Hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with some weekend rotation. (Weekend rotations are primarily during the academic year.)

• Picks up trash and/or litter from University buildings and grounds; empties trash receptacles.
• May sweep and mop rooms and hallways; may dust and perform general cleaning of rooms; may clean windows.
• May vacuum and shampoo carpets; may strip and wax floors; mayclean and sanitize restrooms.
• May mow, trim, and rake grounds; may remove shrubs andtrees.
• May sow grass and renovate turf areas; may apply herbicides tolawn.
• May pick up and/or deliver equipment and supplies.
• May perform cleaning/washing duties in dining hall dishroom orpot and pan area.

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.
• May require driver's license.
• This position requires the ability to successfully pass aPost-Offer Pre-Employment (POPES) physical.

• Knowledge of the use of either cleaning equipment/materials orlawn equipment/materials
• Ability to understand and follow directions
