SA‑TECH is a DoD contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance, weapons testing, facilities management, and more. We operate a dozen active test and training ranges for the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
We are currently hiring a General Maintenance Worker at the Fort Rucker AGRC. The role reports to the Crew Chief and involves maintaining the Aviation Gunnery Range Complex and its facilities.
Responsibilities- Assist in target fabrication and repair, pneumatic repair, and RETS operation and repair.
- Perform specialized GRC tasks, maintenance, and operations as directed by the Crew Supervisor.
- Help DS/GS Technician with duties requiring lesser skill.
- Assist other skilled maintenance trades with limited duties.
- Operate the range control station computer at the small arms pop‑up range.
- Perform basic small arms range component PMCS.
- Compile statistical data and produce reports on maintenance activity and small arms range utilization.
- Interface with units conducting small arms training and qualification.
- Conduct vegetation control, minor erosion control and other tasks as directed.
- Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails and outbuildings.
- Assist in repairing roads, walkways, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
- Clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.
- Support all target maintenance activities for the ranges.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings, including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and erosion repair.
- Keep target locations clean and vegetation free.
- Clean floors, windows, bathrooms and other areas.
- Operate powered and manual material handling equipment to transport material to truck for loading and off‑loading.
- Prepare material or equipment for packing, transportation, storage, or removal.
- Perform vehicle maintenance, including changing components, fluids and filters.
- Maintain vehicle appearance, fuel vehicles, and keep records of fuel consumed, mileage traveled, stops and persons contacted.
- Maintain safety equipment assigned to vehicle and requisition additions or replacements when consumed.
- Work will vary, mostly outdoors with temperature variations.
- Activities involve 35% standing, 40% walking, 5% stooping, 10% reaching, 10% lifting.
- Requirement to work under rugged conditions.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. alone and over 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Normal hours Monday‑Friday 05:30‑14:00; possible rotating shifts.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in erosion control and grounds construction.
- Vehicle maintenance experience desired.
- Current Alabama Driver’s License; must be insurable under company vehicle insurance policy.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Background screening (SSN, driver record, criminal background) required.
