Summary/Objective
The Operations Assistant (Part-Time) provides day‑to‑day administrative and operational support to the Operations and Estimating teams. The role plays a key part in maintaining efficient workflows by assisting with purchasing, scheduling, vendor communication, and field support. This position has the potential to become permanent and may also support estimating activities as needed. This role will approximate 20–29 hours per week.
Essential Functions- Provide administrative support on daily operational tasks
- Code and process purchase orders accurately and timely
- Call vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment
- Assist with scheduling work, including contacting field personnel and subcontractors
- Support field operations as needed, including responding to requests and tracking documentation
- Assist with estimating-related administrative tasks as assigned
- Maintain organized records for purchasing, scheduling, and operational activities
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and field staff
- Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and document organization
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional administrative or construction‑related education a plus
- Prior experience in an administrative, operations, or construction support role preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with basic office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Willingness to learn estimating and construction‑related processes
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical DemandsThis is largely a sedentary role. The role requires the individual to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The role requires the individual to make substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers often. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures;
transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.
Minimal travel expected. Occasional local travel may be required to support field operations.
