4th Grade 5th Grade Special Education Teacher - Palatine, IL

Overview

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available, serving students in grades 3 through 6 in an onsite classroom setting. This role involves working with a mixed classroom of third to sixth graders, including non-verbal students. Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices is highly valued, as these tools support communication within the classroom.

The program combines both school and residential components and addresses adverse and aggressive behaviors. Candidates should be comfortable handling challenging behaviors such as self-injury, property destruction, elopement, and aggression. • Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
• Experience working with students in grades 3-6, preferably in special education settings
