Position Details
Location:
Main Campus – Little City Center for Education – Palatine, IL 60067.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Salary: $85,000 per year.
To provide instructional leadership, coaching and technical support to ensure the effective implementation of educational programming across the Little City Center for Education. Working collaboratively with administration, related service providers, behavior support staff and instructional teams, the Instructional Coordinator supports high quality instruction, compliance with Special Education requirements, implementation of evidence‑based practices, and continuous improvement of student outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Leadership- Serve as an instructional leader for teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Support the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of educational programs, instructional practices, and classroom systems.
- Coach staff in the use of evidence‑based instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, Universal Design for Learning, and autism‑specific methodologies.
- Assist teachers in designing, adapting, and implementing instructional materials, classroom environments, schedules, and learning supports.
- Monitor implementation of curriculum, instructional programs, and student interventions.
- Utilize student performance and classroom data to make recommendations that improve student outcomes.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to instructional staff through observation, feedback, modeling, and collaborative problem solving.
- Facilitate onboarding and induction activities for new instructional staff.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver professional development and training aligned with school priorities and student needs.
- Build staff capacity in instructional practices, data collection systems, assistive technology, curriculum implementation, and educational compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with school leadership to identify professional learning needs and develop targeted training opportunities.
- Review IEPs, evaluations, reevaluations (e.g., 3‑year evaluation) and related educational documentation for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Support teachers in implementing IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and individualized educational programming.
- Monitor student progress data and support staff in maintaining required documentation and data systems.
- Assist in developing intervention plans for students demonstrating academic, behavioral, or functional challenges.
- Ensure instructional and compliance practices align with applicable state regulations, district requirements, and school procedures.
- Collaborate with behavior specialists, administrators, and classroom teams to support implementation of behavioral programming.
- Coach staff in the implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and positive behavior supports.
- Participate in problem solving, incident debriefing, behavior data review, and classroom support activities.
- Assist in identifying barriers to successful implementation of behavioral interventions and support corrective action planning.
- Support staff in the administration and implementation of educational assessments and data collection systems.
- Train instructional staff in effective progress monitoring practices and data analysis.
- Monitor classroom systems, instructional practices, and student outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in strategic planning, program evaluation, and implementation of school improvement initiatives.
- Support the rollout and implementation of curricular resources, educational technology, and instructional tools.
- Serve as a member of the school leadership team.
- Collaborate with administration, related service providers, families, partner districts, and agency departments to support student success.
