Job DescriptionGeneral Function:
- Provide general assistance as determined by the department.
Harper College Adult Educational Development (AED) offers adult education classes to help adult students develop essential skills needed for today’s workforce.
ResponsibilitiesStudent Aide
- Adult Educational Development
Duties of the Position:
Greet visitors and provide customer service at the front desk.
Answer phone calls and assist callers.
Provide information about High School Equivalency (HSE) and English Language Acquisition (ELA) programs.
Perform data entry tasks
- Sort and distribute mail.
File and maintain student records.
Keep office supplies organized and stocked.
Assist faculty and staff with administrative tasks.
Help with organizing AED events.
Being bilingual in Spanish is an added advantage.
Education Requirements:
Current enrollment at Harper College with a minimum of six credits per semester (three credits for the summer semester).
Experience Requirements:
Basic keyboarding skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, ability to multitask, and preferably some prior office or customer service experience.
Work Schedule:
The part-time schedule is based on the student's availability, requiring availability during the following hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a minimum of 5 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week.
