- 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (Mon‑Fri) On Site – Palatine, IL
The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $96,514‑$. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by performance, knowledge, job‑related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. The role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Improvement Projects:
Lead and execute projects that address manufacturing quality issues and optimize processes. - Data‑Driven Decision Making:
Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, develop solutions, and track progress. - Problem Solving Support:
Support major problem‑solving efforts related to production quality, acting as a key contributor and knowledge source for the functions. - Customer Escape Containment:
Contribute to customer escape containment and resolution activities by analyzing defects, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to improve manufacturing quality. - Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Reduction:
Support efforts to reduce COPQ, participate in production stop‑and‑stop‑ship events, assist with root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective measures to enhance quality performance. - Documentation Review:
Review prints and acceptance criteria for accuracy, assisting with defect identification, disposition, and deviation processes to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards. - Process Optimization:
Develop and refine manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce defects. - Quality Support &
Collaboration:
Provide quality support for operations, working closely with production teams to address quality‑related issues and drive continuous improvements. - Metrics & Feedback Utilization:
Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements, driving data‑driven decision‑making across the company. - Team Support:
Support other quality engineers in their work, setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team. - Industry Trends & Innovation:
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating relevant advancements into the company’s approach to quality engineering. - Compliance:
Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and rules.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Attend in‑person or virtual meetings as requested or required.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with others.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on manufacturing quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or higher.
- Knowledge and demonstrated use of statistical analysis/SPC.
- Proven track record of supporting large‑scale quality improvement projects and implementing effective process improvements.
- Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack‑up analysis.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001.
- Demonstrated experience in process analytics with a broad knowledge of quality tools and industry metrics.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the quality function.
- Good project management skills, able to successfully lead small project teams through challenges.
