The Palatine Library District is seeking a part-time, dependable, service-oriented Security Monitor who is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for library members, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment while interacting with diverse populations and responding to challenging situations.
How You ll Contribute:- Foster a safe, secure, and welcoming environment by proactively monitoring library facilities, responding to incidents, and promoting safety for members, staff and visitors.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and emergency responders to address security, facility, and operational needs while contributing to a strong team environment.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by interacting with members professionally, resolving concerns with empathy, and supporting a positive library experience.

- Hourly Range: $20.31-$22.56 an hour (depending on qualifications)
- Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays 5p-9p, alternating weekends include Saturday 9a-5p and Sunday 11a-5p

Objective:As a team member of the Facilities Department, patrols the library premises to ensure the safety of both patrons and staff. Works with person in charge to ensure that appropriate behavior is maintained.
Duties:- A High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least one year of experience in security, facilities, customer service, or a related role.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is important.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, email and internet applications, along with the ability to learn security camera software and other technology.
