Weber Blackstone is seeking a skilled Shopify Developer to own the development, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of our Shopify storefront. This role will partner closely with design, marketing, and e-commerce teams to deliver high‑performing, scalable, and user‑friendly digital experiences. This is a hands‑on role focused on customizing and extending the Shopify ecosystem to support business growth, merchandising strategies, and customer experience improvements.

This is a hybrid role requiring onsite office days in our Palatine, IL campus.

• Develop and maintain custom Shopify Plus storefronts for multiple brands globally using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front‑end technologies.
• Build and customize Shopify themes that align with brand standards, responsive design, accessibility standards, and user experience best practices.
• Create and maintain custom Shopify apps, integrations, and API connections with third‑party systems.
• Optimize website performance, page speed, SEO, A/B testing, and mobile responsiveness to improve customer experience and conversion rates.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and product teams to translate business requirements into scalable e‑commerce solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, production issues, and cross‑browser compatibility problems in a timely manner.
• Implement and manage integrations with ERP systems, CRMs, and marketing platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following development and version control best practices.
• Manage Shopify app installations, configurations, and customizations while ensuring site stability and security.
• Participate in sprint planning, technical estimations, and Agile development processes.
• Conduct testing and quality assurance across devices, browsers, and operating systems before deployment.
• Stay current on Shopify platform updates, e‑commerce trends, and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and new capabilities.

• 4+ years of Shopify experience.
• Strong knowledge of Liquid, Shopify’s templating language.
• Experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture, including Sections, JSON templates, and dynamic content blocks.
• Familiarity with Shopify APIs and the Storefront API for custom app or headless integrations.
• Comfort working with Shopify themes, including theme customizations, version control (Git), and theme deployment processes.
• Proficiency in front‑end development (HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as Vue.js or React) for UI customization and performance optimization.
• Experience with Shopify Plus features such as Scripts, Launchpad, and Flow (if applicable).
• Proficiency with web accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.2).
• Must be able to communicate well with design, marketing, and other IT groups.
• Self‑motivated and willing to teach and share new things about the Shopify ecosystem with other team members.

Salary Range: $85,000‑100,000. This role is also eligible for participation in Weber Blackstone’s bonus program. This salary range represents Weber Blackstone’s good faith belief of what we reasonably expect to pay the top candidate.
