Engagement Type: Project-Based Consulting (60 to 120 Days)

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations & Business Systems Implementation Consultant to assess, design, and implement scalable warehouse, inventory, storage, and operational systems across a portfolio of seven growing companies.

This is a project-based consulting engagement, not a permanent warehouse management or executive leadership position.

The consultant will work directly with the CEO, COO, ownership, and Business Unit Directors to build practical systems that improve efficiency throughout the organization. We are looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and implementing solutions, not simply delivering recommendations.

The primary project is transforming our approximately 10,000-square-foot warehouse into an organized, efficient, trackable, and sustainable operation.

• Project-based consulting engagement
• Approximately 60 to 120 days, depending on project scope
• Significant on-site involvement required
• Works directly with the CEO, COO, and Business Unit Directors
• May coordinate internal staff, temporary labor, vendors, and outside contractors
• Focused on strategy, implementation, documentation, and training

Evaluate the current warehouse operation, including:

• Physical layout
• Storage systems
• Equipment organization
• Asset tracking
• Receiving and staging areas
• Repair and maintenance areas
• Loading and fulfillment processes
• Safety and accessibility
• Space utilization

Develop an organized warehouse system that includes:

• Defined warehouse zones by business unit, equipment type, or workflow
• Racking, shelving, bin, and storage recommendations
• Warehouse location numbering systems
• Shelf, aisle, bin, and asset labeling
• Barcode or QR code recommendations
• Receiving, staging, repair, maintenance, shipping, and return workflows
• Inventory check‑in and check‑out procedures
• Standards for storing, repairing, retiring, and replacing equipment

Lead or assist with implementation by:

• Coordinating the physical warehouse reorganization
• Directing internal staff and outside labor
• Overseeing labeling, zoning, and inventory setup
• Assisting with the selection and implementation of inventory or asset tracking software
• Establishing processes that maintain long‑term inventory accuracy
• Ensuring every major asset has an assigned storage location
• Training staff on warehouse standards and procedures

• Improve workflows between warehouse operations and event teams
• Develop standards for preparing, staging, loading, transporting, returning, and restoring event equipment
• Coordinate with business unit leaders to ensure equipment is event‑ready
• Establish quality control procedures for equipment inspection and maintenance
• Develop maintenance schedules and repair workflows

Work alongside leadership to improve operational systems beyond the warehouse, including:

• Purchasing workflows
• Inventory controls
• Equipment maintenance programs
• Standard Operating Procedures
• Accountability systems
• Cross‑company resource sharing
• Picking, packing, shipping, and fulfillment processes
• Reporting and KPI development

By the conclusion of the engagement, the consultant should deliver:

• Fully organized warehouse layout
