Maintenance Assistant

The Palatka Center for Rehabilitation & Healing is looking for a Maintenance Assistant. This role requires Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening. For more information, go to

• Assist in inspections and repairs of HVAC equipment, cooling units, heading units, hot water systems, ventilation equipment, and other standard equipment.
• Assist in repairs and installations of drywall including mudding, taping, and sanding.
• Paint walls and ceilings as needed.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs, including unplugging, repairing, and replacing toilets, lavatories, sinks, and replacing faulty gate and ball valves.
• Shovel snow and scatter ice melt to insure safe passage for residents, public, and other employees.
• Perform minor electrical repairs, including replacing faulty outlets, switches, and other electrical apparatus.
• Assist and follow maintenance standards.
• Perform general rough and finish carpentry as well as rough and finish concrete work.
• Perform general landscaping, yard work including mowing, cleanup, and other general yard work.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms and reports, and submit to the facility Administrator as necessary.
• Ensure an adequate supply of maintenance supplies is available to perform tasks.
• Ensure equipment is clean and safely stored at the end of the shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) strongly preferred.
