Job SummaryThe Facilities Maintenance Coordinator for Westlake supports the mission of the school by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone. In this active, physically involved role, this individual will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks not limited to repairs, plumbing, electrical, painting, etc. as well as assisting in event setup/tear down and facility upkeep. The individual must demonstrate reliability, integrity, and a heart for serving within a Christian ministry context.
This is a part-time position with the potential for becoming full-time.
Hours are 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Pay: $22 to $28 per hour contingent upon experience.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Duties:
- Perform routine and/or preventative maintenance and repairs on the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems and facilities as scheduled.
- Provide daily upkeep of the campus, which includes routine before school preparations, such as unlocking various doors and blowing the athletic field, downstairs hallway, and courtyard before others arrive.
- Monitor HVAC systems, water heaters, and other essential equipment.
- Perform minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, painting, carpentry, replacing light bulbs, furniture fixes, etc.).
- Report larger maintenance needs to Facilities Director of the church.
- Operate and maintain facility equipment including floor scrubber, carpet cleaning machine, etc.
- Assist with groundskeeping tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes, maintenance procedures, and regulations.
- Event and Ministry Support:
Set up and break down tables, chairs, and other resources for special events and meetings; ensure spaces are reset to default configurations after use. - Safety and Security:
Always maintain safe work practices; help secure the building by locking/unlocking doors at scheduled times; identify and report safety hazards or facility damage.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior facility maintenance experience.
- Ability to lift and potentially move 30 pounds and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and follow written/verbal instructions.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellence in service.

- Maintain confidentiality of students, families, and staff information.
- Be committed to following the principles found in Matthew 18 to resolve interpersonal conflict between colleagues or with the administration.
