JOB SUMMARY
General Maintenance Technician performs duties required in support of operations and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Knowledge of various skilled tasks as required for carpentry, bolt-up and general maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform piping spool/valve installation and removal, rigging, blinding and minor pipe fitting.
- Knowledge of structural and mechanical maintenance operations including the ability to interpret isometric and P&'s.
- Perform manual labor activities, such as hauling, stacking materials, shoveling, and operating hand / power tools.
- Promote safe work practices and adhere to company and client safety policies and procedures, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation.
- Routinely perform safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections.
- Ability to participate in the respiratory protection program.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and be capable of performing assigned tasks with limited general technical guidance.
- Some scaffold knowledge and experience preferred.
- Some insulation knowledge and experience preferred.
- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
- Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical piping, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Driver License.
- Petrochemical or oilfield experience.
- Five (5) years' experience in mechanical piping, rigging, and general piping bolt-up, and good labor skills.
- Asbestos 40 hr.
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet are free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying;
however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self‑serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on‑site orientation.
The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post‑offer, pre‑hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee’s ability to safely meet job standards. Candidates must be able to comply with the ASRC Energy Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy, successfully pass a pre‑employment drug test which may include both urinalysis and hair testing, and meet the physical requirements of working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
In addition, candidates will be required to pass a Fit‑for‑Duty Exam, complete a background check, and obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location. The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
