Under direction, performs varied clerical and secretarial duties for and relieves supervisor of minor administrative duties. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day to day work activities of the office of the supervisor. Work requires knowledge of programs and procedures relating to the work of the supervisor, as well as other departmental personnel. The Secretary II is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of one year specialized training in related area (educational or vocational certificate); and minimum of three (3) years of related clerical/secretarial experience in a general office environment.
Associate’s degree preferred.

Note:
Software and skills proficiency testing for the Secretary II level position will be required upon hire and must be successfully completed within the probationary period, if this testing has not been previously completed. Proficiency testing will include basic Word, basic Excel, alpha filing, keyboarding test, data entry, proofreading and other tests for the role.
- Effective communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to create routine reports, compose minutes and write correspondence.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment. Must possess basic bookkeeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with ability to learn and use various department-specific software programs. Must be able to type 50 words per minute.
- Ability to handle confidential material and maintain confidence.

Salary/Wage: $19.25 (plus exceptional benefits)
