Adjunct Academic Advisor; Part-Time

Position: Adjunct Academic Advisor (Part-Time)
As a member of the Academic Advising Center & New Student Orientation, the Academic Advisor:

* Provides educational information about college academic programs and services for prospective and currently enrolled students;

* Orients new students toward an informed and successful start to their college experience;

* Assists students in assessing their interest and abilities by examining their educational goals, making decisions and developing short and long-term educational plans to meet their planned objectives;

* Interprets and reviews college placement examinations, Advanced Placement (AP), ACT/SAT scores, IB and CLEP (College Level Examination Placement) to ensure proper course selection;

* Provides accurate and timely information related to Career Programs and Transfer courses;
Demonstrates knowledge about educational, institutional, corporate and community resources, as well as other college-wide programs and services.

* Presents on Academic Advising services to groups of students, classes, parents, and/or college staff.

* Provides programming and interventions in which Academic Advisors directly support students.
