Duties

Support the goals and mission of the college; provide quality instruction to your students; and communicate with your department chair or administrator. Duties include various faculty responsibilities; it is preferred that the role serve as program coordinator.

Education / Experience

Minimum of an AAS degree in automotive technology. ASE Certifications in A1, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, and G1 (G1 or ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician) required with 2000 hours (1-2 years) of relevant work experience in the field.

Preferred: BS degree in Automotive Technology or five years of experience teaching automotive technology at a secondary or post‑secondary educational institution. ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician (A1-A8) and ASE Certified Advanced Engine Performance Specialist (L1). Prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, experience performing drivability diagnostics on automobiles, and/or previous teaching experience with a focus on automotive performance and drivability. The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards for classroom instruction. Applies innovative teaching methods and demonstrates ability to work with students at all skill levels.
