New Concepts for Living is currently seeking a Facilities Porter to join our fast-growing team! Responsible for completing duties as directed by the manager for overall cleanliness of an 81,000+ sqft commercial facility.

New Concepts for Living is the fastest growing community-based organization in Bergen County committed to adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

SCHEDULE: 3:30PM - 12:00AM/Monday - Friday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

• Contribute to the meticulous upkeep/cleanliness of facility, amenities, building exteriors, common areas and parking lots.

• Clean, sanitize, dust, and vacuum all areas of the facility on a daily or nightly basis

• Remove trash daily from the building and transport to outside dumpster area

• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners

• Dust and wipe down surfaces

• Vacuum and mop floors

• Restock supplies as needed

• Clean windows and glass surfaces

• Perform daily and periodic maintenance on variety of facilities surfaces including but not limited to VCT, LVT, porcelain, carpeting, and vinyl sheet goods.

• Operate variety of cleaning equipment including but not limited to rotary floor machines, walk behind scrubbers, and carpet extraction

• Notify supervisor of any maintenance repair or cleanliness needs

• Responds to emergency situations during and after hours as necessary.

• Performs custodial duties including general cleanup, periodic power washing and maintenance of walks and snow removal as required

• Communicate with Maintenance Manager about any work that requires outside expert assistance

• Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.

• Complete necessary training on various PPE requirements and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturers guidelines.

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred not required

• 5+ years of experience in the methods and principles of general building cleaning and upkeep

• Experience operating heavy cleaning equipment a plus

• Communicate effectively both orally and writing

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver license, preferred but not required and have a clean driving record, reliable transportation a must, and insurable organization insurance carrier. Ability to pass a background screening. Must be 21 years old. Valid NJ Fingerprint clearance and/or ability to obtain and maintain.
