Job Overview

We are seeking a Tax Staff Accountant to join our boutique public accounting firm in Park Ridge, Illinois. The role involves preparing tax returns, participating in tax planning and compliance engagements, and developing deep technical tax knowledge while working closely with experienced CPA managers and partners. • Prepare individual, partnership, S-corporation, and trust tax returns
• Assist with tax planning and compliance engagements
• Organize and analyze client financial information
• Communicate with senior staff regarding client questions and tax matters
• Assist with bookkeeping and Sales & Use Tax filings for select tax clients
• Continue developing technical tax knowledge through hands‑on training and mentorship

• Experience in public accounting or professional tax preparation (preferred)
• Experience preparing tax returns
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow within public accounting
• CPA or EA designation is not required

• Salary: $60,000‑$80,000 per year
• Hourly position with time-and‑a‑half overtime during busy season
