About the Role:
The City of Park Ridge is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable individual to join our Police Department as a Desk Attendant. This position plays a critical role in providing operational and administrative support to the department, while also delivering responsive, courteous, and efficient customer service to the public.
This part-time role requires availability on weekends and holidays, with additional coverage during the week as needed. All new hires will undergo weekday training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact at the police desk, greeting and assisting visitors and callers.
- Monitor City Hall and prisoner cell access using video surveillance systems.
- Communicate relevant updates between shifts and assist field personnel with requests for information.
- Utilize Cook County CAD, LEADS, and other systems to retrieve, monitor, and forward incident-related data.
- Complete basic police reports and maintain organized departmental files and records.
- Activate emergency alert systems such as the weather warning siren when directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one (1) year of experience in administrative support or customer service.
- Prior experience in a public safety environment preferred.
- Must obtain LEADS certification upon hire.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
