Summary
The Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Multilingual Programming provides district-level leadership in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. This position ensures that the district's instructional frameworks, coaching systems, and professional development programs are coherent, equitable, and aligned to promote high-impact teaching and learning.
The Assistant Director provides strategic leadership for the district's Multilingual Learner (ML) programs, ensuring that instructional practices, program models, and support systems meet the needs of students acquiring English. The role collaborates closely with district and building leaders, as well as our community, to strengthen curriculum alignment, instructional capacity, and equitable access to rigorous learning experiences for all students.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in accordance with District 207's administrative evaluation procedures and aligned to district priorities for teaching and learning.
Qualifications- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement required.
- Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field required.
- Administrative (Type 75) certificate or Teacher Leader endorsement and completion of the Illinois Performance Evaluation Growth Through Learning modules.
- Bilingual or ESL endorsement required.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum leadership, instructional design, and/or multilingual programming.
- Model professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
- Promote a restorative, equitable, and student-centered approach to discipline and support.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with Board policy, state law, and due process standards.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills, particularly in managing complex and time-sensitive situations.
- Engage in continuous professional learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Included but Not Limited To- Curriculum Development, Coordination, and Evaluation
—Lead the development, coordination, maintenance, and evaluation of curriculum in our multilingual courses across the district, ensuring alignment with district standards and state requirements. - Collaborate with department chairs, directors and instructional leaders to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum that best meets the needs of multilingual learners across all academic departments and programs.
- Collaborate with partner districts to align program goals and outcomes.
- Coordinate the intersection of information systems, curriculum, and instruction to ensure data effectively supports program evaluation and instructional decision-making.
- Instructional Leadership and Evaluation
—Support the evaluation and professional growth of department chairs in partnership with building principals. - Participate in the evaluation of certified staff, with an emphasis on instructional quality and student engagement.
- Professional Learning and Staff Development
—Design and deliver professional learning opportunities aligned with the district's instructional framework and improvement goals. Collaborate with the Director and Assistant Directors for Curriculum and Instruction to provide targeted support for teachers and leaders in implementing equitable and high-impact instructional practices that support multilingual learners.
