Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Project Engineer (Design) to join our client's organization in the Park Ridge, IL area.

• Contribute to product design and development, including creating 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Support development activities such as design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and validation.
• Coordinate technical discussions and work closely with internal teams and external customers or suppliers.
• Assist in planning and tracking project milestones, deliverables, and open technical items.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documents including bills of materials, change orders, risk analyses, and technical reports.
• Support testing activities by preparing validation plans, submitting test requests, and reviewing results.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and contribute to innovation and product enhancements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience in product design or engineering through professional work or internships.
• Ability to create and interpret 3D CAD models, drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work through technical challenges.
• Familiarity with engineering development processes, quality standards, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Proficiency with standard office software and strong communication skills across written, verbal, and presentation formats.
• Preferred qualifications may include advanced technical degrees, experience with simulation tools, exposure to manufacturing environments, or customer‑facing engineering work.
