Overview

Maine Township High School District 207 announces an administrative vacancy for Director of Fiscal Services beginning July 1, 2026, or no later than July 16, 2026.

Summary

The Director of Fiscal Services manages the fiscal affairs of Maine Township High School District 207 in a manner that provides for the maximum educational benefit from available financial resources. This position ensures that all district financial activities are conducted efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with Board policy, state and federal regulations, and sound accounting practices. The Director provides leadership and oversight for budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and auditing functions, maintaining fiscal integrity and operational excellence in support of the district s educational mission.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, accounting, or school business operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in budgeting, auditing, purchasing, and fiscal reporting within an educational or public-sector setting.
  • Proven record of integrity, accuracy, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills necessary to manage complex financial systems and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in fiscal management practices.
  • Valid Chief School Business Official (CSBO) endorsement or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Expectation that the successful candidate will obtain the CSBO if not currently held.
  • Maintains professional competence through individual and team professional development activities.
  • Such other qualifications as the Board of Education may establish.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • It is expected that the candidate will present a record of successful experiences that indicate potential for outstanding leadership and performance in the following responsibilities:
  • Accept a significant share of the responsibility for the preparation and administration of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), bids, and various third-party contracts.
  • Serve as the liaison between the District and the Township School Treasurer s Office, ensuring accurate and timely financial coordination.
  • Supervise and oversee the Accounts Payable and Purchasing functions, ensuring compliance with Board policy, state law, and audit standards.
  • Coordinate student fees and the online fee collection program, including reconciliations and communication with schools and families.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, reports, and summaries as required by law, the Board of Education, and the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial records, files, and documentation necessary for the annual audit, state audits, and federal audits.
  • Oversee the preparation, management, and administration of NSERVE and grant budgets, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Prepare and submit state and federal claims, including quarterly grant expenditure reports and Federal Form 1099s for non-payroll services.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for entities for which the District serves as the administrative agent.
  • Carry out all fiscal service functions in accordance with Board policy, including payment of Board bills and supervision of all accounting, purchasing, and accounts payable operations.
  • Maintain a continuous internal auditing and inventory program for all district funds, assets, and properties.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, statements, and summaries as required by law, policy, or administrative direction.
  • Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Business.
