Job DetailsFull time, 36 hours per week.
Schedule:
three 12‑hour night shifts per week with holiday and weekend rotations. Pay range: $38.20 – $57.30.
- Uses the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care. Includes the patient and family in planning and implements care while maintaining a therapeutic relationship.
- Anticipates and recognizes significant changes in the patient’s condition and implements ongoing assessments, taking appropriate actions when changes occur.
- Implements strategies to reduce patient risk, increase safety, and assess patient and family readiness to learn, individualizing approaches as necessary.
- Coordinates the discharge plan using an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence‑based practice and consistently incorporating nursing and regulatory standards into practice.
- Provides ongoing evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking appropriate action when changes are needed and supporting initiatives to improve processes and outcomes.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills, promotes collaboration among healthcare team members, and assumes a leadership role in the care team.
- Promotes a culture of safety by identifying threats, intervening to prevent harm, reporting safety events, and assisting in corrective actions.
- Applies ethical decision‑making and demonstrates respect and understanding for peers and other disciplines, participating as an effective member of the patient care team.
- Participates in quality and process improvement initiatives to enhance department function and the patient care experience.
- Engages in professional activities that contribute to personal development and mentoring others, attending required meetings and completing annual competencies.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care, including growth and development principles, and applies departmental policies and procedures.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
- Provides holistic patient care from a patient and family perspective.
- Recognizes situational changes requiring unplanned interventions and responds with confidence, timeliness, and flexibility.
- Proficient in computer use, electronic mail, and electronic medical record systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Builds rapport and maintains professional relationships with patients, team members, and physicians; takes initiative and collaborates with others.
- Makes critical, independent decisions.
- Exhibits excellent organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Manages time effectively, multitasks, and prioritizes amid frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates coordination, collaboration, delegation, and team‑building skills.
- Maintains annual educational requirements for hospital‑based certifications (e.g., DNV, CARF, or others).
- Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs. over the head; carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance; push/pull with 30 lbs. of force; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present; operate foot pedals on carts or machines.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch; use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
