Under general supervision, this position is a front-line provider responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of public streets and rights of way throughout the Town.

* This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town's policies

* Operates and maintains motor vehicles, road construction equipment/tools, and snow/ice removal equipment.  

* Provides the Streets Supervisor and/or Streets Lead Technician with status reports and advises on projects/tasks related to or assigned to the Streets Division.

* Maintains and repairs the Town's street and right-of-way assets.  

* Performs snow/ice removal operations on a rotating schedule when necessary.

* Responds to natural and man-made disasters by performing street maintenance duties as required.

* Maintains asphalt in streets, right of ways, medians, and sidewalks; this includes the demolishing and removing existing asphalt, establishing subgrade surfaces, sealing cracks and mastic, patching and repairing potholes, and patching and sectioning repairs which includes surface and full-depth replacement.  

* Maintains concrete in streets, right of ways, medians, and sidewalks; this includes the demolishing, removing, and replacing of existing concrete, implementing, and understanding appropriate mix designs for the designated area, and forming/pouring concrete.  

* Maintains right of way by means of mowing, edging, weed mitigating, street sweeping, and maintaining landscape.

* Services and maintains assigned equipment and makes minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on related equipment such as checking/servicing fuel, oil, coolant levels, tire pressure, and general appearance; takes necessary steps to bring equipment up to operating standards; prepares and maintains detailed usage records.

* Complies with and ensures compliance with all organizational values, policies, procedures, and all verbal and written instructions.

* Performs other related duties as needed.
