Class A Driver, Onsite

Job Description

This position pays $25.04 per hour! Shift: Mon - Thu 6:30am - 5:00pm

We're looking for a full-time, Heavy Driver to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Parsons, Kansas.

• Checks truck for proper operating condition, recommends necessary repairs, and may make minor adjustments. May supervise a small crew of laborers.
• Performs necessary functions to receive, move, store and outship material in an efficient and safe manner. Responsible for onsite transportation of hazardous waste.
• Picks orders for line support and shipments. Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage.
• Assembles various types of merchandise to be shipped.
• Performs necessary inventory functions as required and responsible to insure accurate counts on storage items.

• Experience operating a semi with trailer and forklift safely.
• Knowledge of Security regulations (ATF, DSS, Homeland Security).
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong math skills.
• Effective communication skills.

• High School and/or equivalent.
• 3 years minimum experience.
• Forklift certification.
• Hazardous Materials Endorsement, Class A-CDL.
• Minimal reading comprehension 6th grade level required.
