Overview
Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and leading the maintenance team, planning and scheduling maintenance work (both routine and emergency), ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and managing maintenance budgets and projects. Key responsibilities involve troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, managing contractor work, and coordinating with other departments to minimize downtime and ensure efficient plant operations. This role manages a diverse team of skilled tradespeople, including millwrights, instrumentation and electrical (I&E) technicians, refrigeration technicians, scaffold builders, insulators, painters, welders, and pipe fitters.
Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate all craft field work, ensuring timely and effective maintenance operations.
- Manage and lead a team of skilled tradespeople, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Address personnel issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions for hourly employees.
- Develop, implement and maintain maintenance schedules and action items to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals and priorities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas and equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, personnel issues, and equipment status.
- Participate in budget planning and cost control related to maintenance operations.
- Assist in development and implementation of maintenance training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Ensure maintenance employees comply with safety rules, promote safe working practices and safety programs.
- Record worked hours and other costs in the CMMS system, enabling verification of invoices.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- High School Diploma.
- SAP knowledge.
- 5-7 years of supervisor’s experience in a plant setting.
- Able to read, write and communicate in English.
This is a permanent onsite position on a full-time basis, based in Pasadena, TX, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
