Production Technician
Location: Pasadena, TX — Bay Area — Gulf Coast MC.
Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining plant production, operating efficiency, regulatory compliance, and safety. Works in a rotating Monday‑Friday schedule.
Responsibilities- Apply plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures to protect the team.
- Model a safety‑minded culture; conduct shared safety practices.
- Work safely and conscientiously in all situations.
- Identify maintenance needs and enter work orders into the Maximo system.
- Perform all work in alignment with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing Life Safety Training skills.
- Partner with contractors, visitors, and co‑workers to support compliance with safety policies.
- Issue safe work permit documentation and perform lock‑out tag‑out of equipment.
- Grow knowledge in plant operations, processes, and equipment.
- Show interest in instrumentation and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, P&IDs, electrical schematics, etc.
- Keep accurate records and comply with documentation and record retention policies.
- Operate control board and operator interface consoles.
- Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, and operations PMs.
- Contribute to high housekeeping and organizational standards.
- Support additional team needs as requested by Plant Management.
- Perform other duties based on business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Technical associate’s degree or higher.
- At least 2 years of technical training or operations experience.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, rotating equipment, and piping systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (Process Safety Management, EPA, FDA, state/local regulations).
- Knowledge of lock‑out and equipment isolation methods.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Team‑player with self‑motivation and good communication skills.
- Forklift, man‑lift, and overhead crane qualification preferred.
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
- Wear required PPE: hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing.
- Full range of motion; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climb ladders, work off elevated platforms, and enter confined spaces.
- Work in non‑conditioned environments for extended periods.
