General Labor, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
JOB SUMMARY:
Join our team as an Equipment Service Technician, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and preparing heavy rental, sales, and used equipment. Your contributions will help ensure customer satisfaction and equipment readiness in the yard.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Instruct customers on the proper use and safety procedures of equipment.
- Load and unload machines on customer transportation.
- Maintain an organized and clean yard appearance.
- Complete shipping and receiving documents for equipment.
- Inspect returned machines for damage, fuel levels, and attachments.
- Assist technicians with minor repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Clean and detail machines upon return to uphold proper appearance.
- Perform a final check of customer equipment before it leaves the yard.
- Steam clean equipment and components on request; ensure the cleaning area is tidy and free from debris.
- Organize and maintain attachment inventory effectively.
- Deliver and pick up equipment as required.
- Oversee the tool room by lending equipment to technicians, managing inventories, and scheduling repairs with outside vendors.
- Help with shop cleanup tasks.
- Respond to all public and internal inquiries promptly and cheerfully.
- Follow all customer care standards.
- Work safely at all times, adhering to all safety policies, and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and may serve as a Green Belt in support of the Six Sigma program.
- Embrace and promote the corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Familiarity with light construction equipment operation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or other comparable systems.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to work overtime with little or no notice.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited vocational school is preferred.
- Previous industry experience is advantageous.
- A clean driving record and valid driver’s license required; must be able to meet CDL requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (speak, read, write, comprehend).
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, with the ability to sit, climb stairs, bend, twist, push, pull, and reach above the shoulder.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs in accordance with safety lifting practices.
- Must meet all safety requirements as outlined by policies.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, and fumes.
